Irony is the one who stands slightly outside the room and notices. The satyr is the one already in it, playing, and not much interested in being noticed. A good bottle shop needs both: somebody who reads the label sceptically, and somebody who just wants to open the thing.

What that means on the shelf

We buy in small quantities and we sell out of things. That is deliberate. A shelf that always has everything is a shelf nobody is choosing.
