The problem

Manual checks waste time and cause errors.

Engineering teams work with thousands of files — Design Bases, specifications, drawings, standards. Checking them by hand is slow and inconsistent, and what slips through comes back as rework, compliance risk and lost time.

Thousands of files

A single package runs to hundreds of documents, each citing others by number and revision.

1,000s

Slow manual checks

Engineers read line by line to confirm that a value, a count or a revision matches everywhere it appears.

weeks

Rework and compliance risk

An outdated revision or a mismatched rating found on site costs far more than one found on paper.

on site

of project cost goes on avoidable error, on average, in UK construction. Poor and late design information is among the leading causes. Get It Right Initiative, research 2015–16

of engineers’ working time is spent finding, receiving and handling information, rather than on the engineering it feeds. Robinson, J. Am. Soc. Inf. Sci. Technol., 2010

The answer

AI that understands engineering documents.

  1. Reads

BravoDoc reads and checks documents using language models and OCR.

  2. Detects

It finds missing data, wrong values and outdated standards.

  3. Reports

It produces a clear report showing what needs attention, and where.

Who it is for

For the people who sign the package off.

  • Engineering managers

Know the package agrees with itself before it goes out.

One report across every document, instead of trusting that each reviewer caught what crossed into another discipline.

  • Document controllers

Catch outdated revisions and missing references at issue.

Every cited document is matched to the set and its current revision — the check that is easiest to skip by hand.

  • QA and compliance

Evidence that the documents were cross-checked.

A report that lists what was compared, what disagreed and where, kept with the package.

  • EPC contractors and owners

Find the conflict on paper, not on site.

A rating that differs between the Design Basis and the specification costs an email now, and a change order later.

Live demo

Try it on your documents.

Drop a few PDFs or Word files from one project. The checks run in your browser — nothing is uploaded. No documents at hand? Run the sample package.

Drop documents here

PDF, Word (.docx) or text · up to 20 files · 20 MB each

This demo runs BravoDoc’s cross-check rules on text it can read. Scans and CAD files need the OCR layer, which is part of the pilot.

    How it works

Four steps, from a folder of files to a validation report.

    1. 01

      Upload your documents

PDF and Word today; drawings and scans with OCR in the pilot.

    2. 02

      AI scans and compares data

Document numbers, revisions, standards, quantities and design values are extracted and matched.

    3. 03

      Flags problems and inconsistencies

Every finding points to the document, the page and the line.

    4. 04

      Creates a validation report

A report the team can work through, share and keep with the package.

    Cost

What cross-checking by hand costs you today.

Put in your own numbers. This is the cost of the check as it is done now — the pilot measures how much of it BravoDoc takes off, on your documents.

    Working now

    • Reads PDFs and Word files

Text, tables and title blocks from the formats a package actually ships in.

    • Extracts text and technical data

Document numbers, revisions, standards with editions, quantities and rated values.

    • Detects missing or conflicting references

Every cited document is matched against the set and its current revision.

    • Shows results in a simple web dashboard

Findings sorted by severity, each with its source line.

    In development

    • Layout check

Verify that drawing layouts follow the client’s standards and specifications.

    • Revision tracking

Track what changed between document revisions — Rev 1 → Rev 2 — automatically.

    • Consistency verification on drawings

Count components on the drawing itself and match them to the list: 20 switches in the list, 20 on the drawing.

    • OCR for drawings and scans

DWG, DXF and scanned PDFs read as text, so nothing in the package is skipped.

    Your documents

Engineering documents are confidential. We treat them that way.

    • Demo

      Nothing leaves your computer.

The demo on this page reads files in your browser. There is no upload, no server and no copy — close the tab and they are gone.

    • Pilot

      Deployment agreed with you.

BravoDoc is built cloud-ready for AWS and Azure. Where it runs for your pilot, and who can see the documents, is set before any file is shared.

    • Fit

      Tailored to your documents.

A version tuned to your numbering, your document types and the standards you work to — not a generic checker.

    • IP

      Shared IP or exclusive use.

For a co-development partner the model is open: a shared result, or a version for your use only.

    Roadmap

    From prototype to full product.

    1. 01 · Now

      Working prototype

The AI validation core: reading, extraction and cross-reference checks.

    2. 02 · Next

      Cross-document checks and custom rules

Your standards and your limits, written as rules the validator applies.

    3. 03 · Future

      Full SaaS platform

Integrations with your document system, and models that learn from your projects.

    Smarter validation ahead

    • ACross-checks between Design Basis, philosophies and specifications
    • BData consistency checks in text, tables and drawings
    • CA standards matrix with version tracking
    • DA machine-readable Design Basis with unified limits and safety margins

    Partnership

    Let’s develop BravoDoc together.

We are looking for an engineering partner to take BravoDoc into production — on your documents, against your standards.

    • Early access

to the technology, before it is offered to anyone else.

    • A version tailored

to your documents, numbering and standards.

    • Shared IP or exclusive use

      — the model of cooperation is open.

    • Time and cost savings

on every package your engineers no longer check line by line.

    1. Step 1

Improve the prototype — add cross-document validation.

    2. Step 2

      Pilot on your real data.

    3. Step 3

Build the enterprise version for wider rollout.

    FAQ

    Questions engineering teams ask first.

Does BravoDoc replace the engineer’s review?

No. It reads every document against every other one and lists what does not agree, with the line it found it on. An engineer decides what each finding means. The time it saves is the searching and comparing, not the judgement.

Which file formats does it read?

PDF and Word today, which is what the demo on this page uses. Scanned PDFs and drawings (DWG, DXF) need OCR, which is in development and part of the pilot.

Which standards does it check against?

Today it checks that every standard is cited in the same edition across the package — IEC, EN, ISO, DIN and others, by number. Checking content against your own standards and limits, as custom rules, is the next step on the roadmap.

    Where do our documents go?

In the demo, nowhere: files are read in your browser. In a pilot, where it runs and who can see the documents is agreed with you before any file is shared. It is built cloud-ready for AWS and Azure.

    What does a pilot involve?

You choose a real document package. We tune the checks to your numbering and standards, run them, and go through the findings with your engineers. You see what it catches on your own work before any wider rollout.

    What does it cost?

A pilot is scoped with you, depending on the package and the rules it needs. Ask for a proposal through the form below.
